Goals

This semester, I definitely want to try more film photography. I think it's really interesting and not something that we can often do now. I like the way that the photographs look in black and white, it gives sort of a old-fashioned feel to them and can also be so much crisper and sharper. The simplification without all of the varying colors invading lends a strength to the images. With film, I want to focus on light and shadows and the way light influences the subject matter. I would also like to try experimenting with long exposures for time-lapse photos. I've seen some work like this and thought that it would be very interesting to try and its something very outside of the other techniques I've used. Photoshop is something else that I might want to play around with some more. I find it fun to experiment with the many tools in Photoshop and want to continue to explore what it offers. I think it has a lot of different uses. For me, it is probably not a tool I would use on all of my photographs, but rather for creative use on a specific project that could really be enhanced with its tools.
